Happy fourth of July!

David and I had a great Independence day AGAIN this year. One year ago, on the 4th of July, was the very first time that we ever hung out. So it's official--we've known each other a year now! Woohoo. I guess the 4th will always have a special place in our hearts.
This year we hung out with friends at Steve and Wendy's pool and had a BBQ/picnic and went swimming during the afternoon. We reconvened after a short nap and then all met up again to go to the Sugarhouse park fireworks. They were pretty amazing and oh boy was that place PACKED. Afterwards, we lit off our own small collection of fireworks at Jewel, Elisabeth, and Mo's house. It was a great day. Too bad I kept forgetting our camera or I would have some pics to share. Maybe next year! I hope everyone had a great holiday. Now it's back to work until Utah's fake-me-out holiday (aka Pioneer day). I LOVE getting that day off. Thank you Utah! :)

The Price is Right, DREW!

David and I were able to go on a little vacation to California last week to visit his family and so I could meet his grandma, who lives in Florida and came up to visit. We decided that we wanted to go to the Price is Right on Memorial Day. David, me, Cassie, Ryan, Neil, and Monica headed to wait in line at 2:30 in the morning and were finally able to go on the show at 1 p.m! It was very exhausting but so much fun and VERY VERY worth it. Monica ended up being called up from our group to contestants row, but all the other contestants kept bidding $1 more than her, so she never got to be up on stage. It was still SO cool either way. We're now going to be on t.v. this Wednesday (June 3rd). We were on t.v. a bunch so you should look for us. We're near the back with red baseball tees with a picture of Drew's head in front of cross bones, saying "Drew or Die!!" That's the closest I'll probably ever come to fame and fortune, and I have to live vicariously through Monica. It was just so neat to see Drew Carey up close. We had a blast. When we got home later that day, we all just zonked out for hours. I'm still recovering from that morning. :) Sorry I don't have an pictures of us in the tshirts because our camera died the day before, but when I get the pictures from Cassie I'll post them.
We do have a few pictures of us going to the beach and hanging out. We're just so glad that we got to go out there for a few days and hang out with David's family. They are the best! If only we lived closer to the beach now...
Us chillin' in first CLASS! Thanks Dustin

David insisted on burying me. It was fun besides the fact I was pulling sand out of my clothes for days

Happy Birthday David!

Happy 24th Birthday David! I hope you have a great day with lots of fun secret activities. I took a few pictures of the festivities thus far, and there will be more to come. I sure love birthdays, especially when they're not my own. I'm so glad that Smith's was open at 6 a.m. when I needed balloons!
David, I sure love you! I hope this is one of many great birthdays to come. It's your day, go wild! haha

What is this world coming to?

Isn't this supposed to say "Just Married!?" David and I saw this car when we went to walk around the Gateway one day. At first we laughed and then I got a little sad. I guess some people don't have happy marriages so a divorce would be a relief but it just made me wonder what is wrong with this world and the crazy people in it.
On a less depressing note, this is David and what happened to his teeth because he never goes to the dentist! Isn't he cute?!

Happy belated Easter

Happy Easter! I know I'm about a week or so late with this post but I wasn't able to upload my photos at work. Only one computer will take my memory card and I've been sitting at a different desk all week. David and I had a great Easter. The E.B. hit up our tiny apartment BIG time this year. We have candy coming out of our ears, I swear. One of our friends gave us candy, then we checked the mail and my mom sent candy, and then the Easter bunny brought both David and me big baskets over flowing with the good stuff. He brought me 2 entire package of those delectable Reese's eggs so I was a happy camper. If that's the only candy I got, I would have been thrilled.
We started the morning by looking for our baskets. The Easter bunny hid David's basket in the dryer downstairs at our apartment complex. I was SO mad because I thought it was the perfect hiding spot and that it would take him awhile to find but that was the first place he looked. Dang it! I couldn't locate my basket until I went on a scavenger hunt. It was so much fun and I was happy to get my loot from out storage unit outside afterwards.
After church and a nap, we went over to Melissa and Brandon's house for Easter dinner. It was so delicious and is always fun to see them. It was a good day. Now if I can just find something to do with the pounds of candy we have, I will be happy. And I do NOT want thunder thighs so it's outta the question having me eat it all.

I wish we could all be California girls...

For my birthday this year, David surprised me with a trip to California to go to Knott's Berry Farm and hang out with his family for a long weekend. I suspected that we were headed out of town when he made me take Friday and Monday off of work and thought that it would be to California, but it wasn't until I saw a post-it note stating "take time off work to catch flight to California" that I knew for sure. I had been teasing him for weeks that I knew where we were going, but I didn't really, so he was so mad when I read the post-it aloud to him and said "ha! Caught ya". Poor guy is the absolute WORST at keeping a secret. He swore his and my family to secrecy but then went ahead and told me where we were going a week and half early...and even made me open the gift he got me that night because he couldn't wait another second! It's nice to know that I never have to worry about him lying to me because he wouldn't last a day! :)
On Friday, he rode bikes around Riverside and then had lunch at In-N-Out burger, animal style of course. Yummy!-- I can NOT wait until it comes to Murray this summer ( I DON'T care if it's a "california" thing). Then we hung out for awhile before going to play miniature golf at Castle Park--where there is nothing miniature about that place. I won because I was the Birthday girl and had to keep David in his place. We then proceeded to take a picture in those little photo booths, only to be conned out of 5 bucks and the only thing we had to show for it was a lousy photo of some Hungarian girl and her friend.
Proof that I got a hole-in-one

Teri made beef casserole, which is an absolute must in that house. David literally about DIES waiting to get some of that casserole because he only gets in when he goes home. Neil and Monica also came over and got me my own first NEW skateboard. Cassie made me the cutest Build-a-Bear panda with a pink tutu (because I LOVE pink, in case you didn't know). Dave and Teri got me 3 tickets to Knotts Berry farm so that David, me, and Cassie could go the next day. It was the most perfect day and birthday...complete with pink cake even! After the party, we just hung out and played Killer Bunnies, this crazy card game that Neil and Monica brought over. I loved it but David found it perplexing.
Watch out! They're rabbid

This game is weird

Ummm...pink cake and ice cream
On Saturday, we went to Knott's and had the best time. I LOVED it so much but could do without going on the backwards one again! I MADE David take me to get some of Mrs. Knott's famous fried chicken because I had seen in about 3 times on GoodEats on the TV and have wanted to try it ever since. And we also were sure to get a famous funnel cake--which was as good as advertised!

Sunday we went to the beach with David's parents & Susan and Nelson (their awesome family friends) to ride beach cruisers along the sand. This time I didn't have to ride the bike with the pedal that falls off so it was the best! Poor David wasn't quite as lucky. :) Later that night, Neil and Monica came back over and we played Idiot, another card game and watched Cash Cab (I love that show so much and since we don't have TV, I went CRAZY for watching it). Monday we just had a relaxing day and then had to go to LA to go home at night. I was really sad to leave, but was just happy to get away for a weekend. I have the absolute best husband, who spoils me to death. Thank you David for making my birthday so amazing.
My super cute husband and basel the cutest dog
Great....now I have to think of something fabulous for May 20th! :)

Green Eggs and...

(Kiss me I'm Irish!...literally)
Happy St. Patty's Day Everyone! Holidays are the best. I will celebrate just about anything just to do something fun and different. This morning, I decided to make David breakfast and dye everything in the house green....Well, not EVERYTHING, but just everything he ate. He had green scrambled eggs (that looked so nasty), green pancakes, and green OJ. To get back at me, he took the yogurt I was eating and proceeded to dye that green for me. And since he is such a good boy, a Irish lepracon even came to visit him and brought him chocolate gold coins and a card. He decided to use the coins for eyes, but all and all it was a good morning. Tonight we're headed over to Brandon and Melissa's house for some yummy food and Rockband on their new idol...errr...I mean flat screen TV! I made this cheesecake (which of course I died green) that will probably make us all have a heart attack. Let's just say that it's called Chocolate-Chocolate chip cookie dough caramel cheesecake explosion. I'm a little scared. haha Anyhow, hope you all have a fun green day!
