The Price is Right, DREW!

David and I were able to go on a little vacation to California last week to visit his family and so I could meet his grandma, who lives in Florida and came up to visit. We decided that we wanted to go to the Price is Right on Memorial Day. David, me, Cassie, Ryan, Neil, and Monica headed to wait in line at 2:30 in the morning and were finally able to go on the show at 1 p.m! It was very exhausting but so much fun and VERY VERY worth it. Monica ended up being called up from our group to contestants row, but all the other contestants kept bidding $1 more than her, so she never got to be up on stage. It was still SO cool either way. We're now going to be on t.v. this Wednesday (June 3rd). We were on t.v. a bunch so you should look for us. We're near the back with red baseball tees with a picture of Drew's head in front of cross bones, saying "Drew or Die!!" That's the closest I'll probably ever come to fame and fortune, and I have to live vicariously through Monica. It was just so neat to see Drew Carey up close. We had a blast. When we got home later that day, we all just zonked out for hours. I'm still recovering from that morning. :) Sorry I don't have an pictures of us in the tshirts because our camera died the day before, but when I get the pictures from Cassie I'll post them.
We do have a few pictures of us going to the beach and hanging out. We're just so glad that we got to go out there for a few days and hang out with David's family. They are the best! If only we lived closer to the beach now...
Us chillin' in first CLASS! Thanks Dustin

Cassie got FRIED at the beach, hence the sign

David insisted on burying me. It was fun besides the fact I was pulling sand out of my clothes for days

Looks like fun. I will try and watch for you on the show!

Oh, and who is Dustin and how did he get you first-class tickets? Quite the hook-up!

Dustin is our pilot friend (David's roommate before I came along) who gives up buddy passes whenever we want to go anywhere. We can sit in first class if there are seats available. it's awesome

Looks so fun, Claire--glad you guys had a good trip! Thanks again for stopping by last night. Now get some rest and try to recover from that "vacation" because we all know that vacations are always more exhausting than real life!!! Can't wait to see you on TV tomorrow.

A) Yes, these headbands are actually AMAZING--and that should meaning something, coming from me. You know how picky I am about these things. But seriously, they don't move an inch all day. I actually just got them at the grocery store--Allen's. The brand is "scunci" but that's about all I know about them...
B) We've been calling her Nena for a while now--Nathan from the time she was in my womb, actually, but it took me a bit longer to warm up to it. It's just a common Spanish nickname for little girls. In fact, I think it actually basically just means "Little Girl."
C) You game for camping or what? We're gonna have some SWEET dutch oven cooking... And work is so overrated.
