CLOSED FOR BUSINESS

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you have a great little break from school, work, stress, and any worries and have a fabulous time with your families. David and I will be closing up shop here soon and be off to California for a nice LONG week break (finally some WARM weather). We hope you travel safe and remember the Savior during this time of the year. We are thankful for the birth of Jesus Christ and for the gospel in our lives. Merry CHRISTmas and a happy New Year! We love you all.

Enough already

Is it just me or are you as sick of all the snow as I am? Granted, it's beautiful and it's nearly Christmastime, but a little less would be nice. I normally don't mind it THIS bad, but shoveling snow every day has just been annoying. I hope you're having a warmer holiday season than we are!

Speaking of which, maybe NOW wasnt the time for David to do THIS to his look...

Happy THANKSgiving

Happy late Thanksgiving everyone! We had the best holiday this year. My parents and Autumn were able to come to Utah and stay at Melissa's house for the holiday. We had the best time eating, playing games, eating, playing guitar hero, eating some MORE food and PIE, shopping, celebrating Autumn's birthday, and just enjoying one another's company...Oh did I mention the Eating? I am SO excited for Christmas now. And it's officially December 1st so I'm good to listen to Christmas music the rest of the year. It's crazy how quickly time flies. David and I celebrate our ONE YEAR anniversary this weekend which just seeems nuts to me. It really has been a great year and I am so thankful for family and friends and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I hope everyone had a great time.

In-N-Out

That's right folks, In-N-Out is open is Provo, as of yesterday. Of course, being the loving fans of those tasty shakes and animal-style burgers, David and I braved the cold and LONG line to be at the opening. And let me just say, it did not disappoint. Man, that place is tastey. David, of course, was a little sad that you don't have to drive to California to get the experience, but I"m stoked that we can just drive 10 minutes and have such great, cheap burgers. Trust me, David and I will single-handedly be keeping that place in business. See ya later 5 guys and your stupid burgers and fries, HELLO In-N-Out! Of course I took pictures, but do to the same continuing computer issue, you will just be to seeing text instead of fun pictures.

P.S. David is not alone in his annoyance that In-N-Out is so close...We took a picture of us there and sent it to his mom and the only thing she responded was "Great, next thing I know STUPID Utah will have a beach!" Made me laugh :) Don't worry, they will never have a Disneyland, so we'll definitely still be visiting California!!

A change

Well, it's official--I'm no longer a hair VIRGIN! I have been wanting a change for such a long time and David finally gave me the push I needed to DYE MY HAIR! Granted, it's not a HUGE difference but I love it and in the sunlight it does look pretty shnazzie if I don't say so myself. I got a cut and 2 colors at the Paul Mitchel School of Hair. I know what you're thinking: You did WHAT? And the answer is YES! I went there...and you want to know something else? I loved IT! So many people from the complex get their hair done all the time from the school and always tell me how great and cheap it is, so I broke down and did it. It was very terrifying since all I kept thinking about was when my mom once went to a hair school and they ruined her hair. All I can say is that I'm glad that at least the certified lead hair guy cut my bangs and not the girl who cut my hair, who kept saying every few minutes, "Man, I really need to buy new scissors. These ones are the worst and are SO dul!" I concentrated all my efforts on thinking happy thoughts and not moving an INCH, in fear that these not-so-sharp scissors would manage to cut just fine and my hair who end up in a huge 80's-style bombshell. Anyhow, point is, they did a good job and I will be going back there from now on (that is unless they manage to ruin my hair sometime). I mean you can't beat a $6 haircut: trust me, I go to all the cheap places and they're all now like $12.
Oh and my computer is all messed up so I guess you'll have to wait on those pics! :) Sorry

Happy Howl-o-ween

Bone-Jour, that's how a skeleton says hello! :) Happy Halloween!! We had a great time this year between carving our pumpkins and going bowling and out to Denny's for Halloween with some friends. David and I had super lame costumes last year, so this year we stepped it up a notch with the ole creativity! We'll probably be wearing the same costumes next year. I hope everyone had a great holiday. I can't believe it's already November. :)

A new post...get off my back!

Ok, so I know I haven't been the best at keeping up with this blog, but I just can't seem to get into it lately. But since it's already half way through October and my second favorite holiday is in full-bloom, I thought I would join the cool kids again with a new post.
Halloween is the best! if you ask me. I always drag David to all the festivities including the Haunted Forest, the Corn maze, carving pumpkins, renting one scary movie after the other, finding the perfect costume, making pumpkin cheesecake (and oh boy was it delicious!), and enjoying the 13 days of Halloween on ABC Family. I just loved everything Halloween. I love getting candy for the potential kids that will come by our apartment...but since NO ONE ever comes, we just get to eat all the Reeses sticks by ourselves, but have an excuse to buy it. I love having activities and dates planned out for you and all you have to do is show up (and of course spend money)! I love peppermint icecream being available once again in the stores. I love all the colors of the trees. I love driving up the canyon and seeing the beauty, without snow (cross your fingers). I love pumpkin everything and busting out the CocoMotion machine. I love that Halloween is more than half way through the semester and just around the bend is CHRISTMAS (the only holiday that outdoes Halloween). I just love it.
Here are some pics of what David and I have been up to for this Halloween (thus far!):

Vegas, baby!

David and I took a little vaca a couple weeks ago to Vegas. The real reason for the trip was that his cousin, Neil, invited us to go to the skateboarding/snowboarding/motorcross expo. David of course was pumped for the skateboarding portion because some of his idols were supposed to be there. Well, it turns out that the skateboarding part was cancelled and a scary "christian" rock concert was inserted. It was pretty funny because David and I started to look around and we quickly noticed that we were like the only ones in the crowd that weren't gothic or creepy and the next thing we know this HARD CORE ROCK concert was going on (and I do mean HARD CORE!). The bands were supposedly singing lyrics with Christian messages but you could NOT understand it. All I heard was tons of screaming and an occasional "REPENT! REPENT!" Needless to say, we didn't stay long!
We ended up just walking around the strip, going out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, and swimming in our plush hotel. We stayed at this place called SouthPointe that is approx. 5 minutes from the strip so it was SUPER CHEAP but the rooms were amaz-za-zing! It was the nicest hotel David or I had ever stayed in. Next time we go to Vegas, we're def staying there again. We had so much fun and it was nice to get away! (The In-N-Out wasn't bad either :) )
Here are so pics for your enjoyment...

Bad DAVID!
Beautiful display at the Bellagio

M&M factory is always a good time!

Back to cool...

Or should that say "Back to School?" Today was David's first day back to college (well, he went to the BYU Salt Lake Center for 2 classes, but I mean back to full-time status) and I'm really proud of him. Every little school boy needs donuts and some color-coordinated balloons on their first day! I'm anxiously awaiting him to come back already. I feel like I sent my first child to kindergarten or something. :) I'm not gonna lie, I miss college.

In other news, here are some things that we've been up to lately...
1-Starting our new job--having major leaks coming from apartments, but getting them all fixed, getting to know all the million people living here, and trying to avoid said people because they are FAR too NEEDY! I'm sorry but a burnt out lightbulb in your fridge does NOT constitute an emergency.

2-Going to the "cabin" with Melissa and Brandon and Co.--Man it was so beautiful up there. And I don't care what they say, that is NO cabin. We had so much fun riding the 4-wheelers, paddle boat, and just relaxing. If we didn't have a meltdown with the green pool, we could have stayed longer.

3-Swimming in the pool pretty much every night. It's so nice having a pool and hot tub just a hop, skip, and a jump away. It's nice having my very own pool boy to clean it too! :)

4-Hiking the Y. 'Nough said. David had to get his first glimpse of the Y that I love so much.
5-Meeting and hugging our cute new nephew. We love you Cory baby!

Harry Potter FINALLY

We saw Harry Potter opening night, DID YOU? David has never read the books so it was so fun to watch it with him, knowing what was going to happen and him being stocked. We didn't realize that they started selling tickets a month before the movie came out so we took one of a few seats left in the place. They ended up being not too bad of seats but I guess there are some crazy Harry Potter fans out there! It was pretty funny, we went to the Gateway a little bit earlier to roam around before our showing an.d there was tons of people dressed up in costumes for the night. I tried to convince David to let me draw a lightening bolt on his forehead, but he wasn't convinced. It was a great movie nonetheless. You should check it out.

Also, for those of you who are interested, David and I are moving this week back to Provo. David starts school at UVU in the fall full-time and we were finally able to secure an Apartment Manager position at a complex near BYU with good pay and free rent, utilities, gas, and internet--not bad for 2 poor college students (ok, so I already graduated, but you know what I mean! :) ) We are really really excited and seems like a pretty easy/chillaxed job and is GREAT for David. All he really has to do every day is clean the pool and shovel sidewalks in the winter. The job was super last minute and we're just counting our lucky stars right now. Getting used to Provo as a married person will be interesting though! ;)

Happy fourth of July!

David and I had a great Independence day AGAIN this year. One year ago, on the 4th of July, was the very first time that we ever hung out. So it's official--we've known each other a year now! Woohoo. I guess the 4th will always have a special place in our hearts.
This year we hung out with friends at Steve and Wendy's pool and had a BBQ/picnic and went swimming during the afternoon. We reconvened after a short nap and then all met up again to go to the Sugarhouse park fireworks. They were pretty amazing and oh boy was that place PACKED. Afterwards, we lit off our own small collection of fireworks at Jewel, Elisabeth, and Mo's house. It was a great day. Too bad I kept forgetting our camera or I would have some pics to share. Maybe next year! I hope everyone had a great holiday. Now it's back to work until Utah's fake-me-out holiday (aka Pioneer day). I LOVE getting that day off. Thank you Utah! :)

The Price is Right, DREW!

David and I were able to go on a little vacation to California last week to visit his family and so I could meet his grandma, who lives in Florida and came up to visit. We decided that we wanted to go to the Price is Right on Memorial Day. David, me, Cassie, Ryan, Neil, and Monica headed to wait in line at 2:30 in the morning and were finally able to go on the show at 1 p.m! It was very exhausting but so much fun and VERY VERY worth it. Monica ended up being called up from our group to contestants row, but all the other contestants kept bidding $1 more than her, so she never got to be up on stage. It was still SO cool either way. We're now going to be on t.v. this Wednesday (June 3rd). We were on t.v. a bunch so you should look for us. We're near the back with red baseball tees with a picture of Drew's head in front of cross bones, saying "Drew or Die!!" That's the closest I'll probably ever come to fame and fortune, and I have to live vicariously through Monica. It was just so neat to see Drew Carey up close. We had a blast. When we got home later that day, we all just zonked out for hours. I'm still recovering from that morning. :) Sorry I don't have an pictures of us in the tshirts because our camera died the day before, but when I get the pictures from Cassie I'll post them.
We do have a few pictures of us going to the beach and hanging out. We're just so glad that we got to go out there for a few days and hang out with David's family. They are the best! If only we lived closer to the beach now...
Us chillin' in first CLASS! Thanks Dustin
